Somewhere to put my Ass and Feet

After taking a test ride with no pegs or a permanant seat, I quickly realized I needed to fix that...

First order of business... foot pegs. I might duplicate this style for some new handlebars.

Next up, let's make a seat pan... I forgot to take a picture of the flat aluminum, but it just looked like this piece of cardboard I used as a template. I started with a piece of .065 3003 Aluminum... Once I had the shape cut out I clamped it in the vise and gave it the curve that precisely conformed to my petite ass.

After bending the curve in the seat, it was really flimsy, so I busted out the $99 bead roller from china freight and commenced to roll a bead around the perimeter.

Then I rolled a couple of ribs in the center and went back to the edge and using a flange roller tried to make the edge a little deeper.

Close up of the flange roller... After finishing with this tool I will beltsand the edge to eliminate the big lip.

Before stopping I rolled a couple of longer beads down the center. The seat is now ridged and won't flex into the fender.

The bare pan is actually pretty darned comfortable as is and it looks pretty cool too!, But, I've started work on a leather cover and pad... It may take me a while to finish this one... In the mean time I think I'll ride it as is!

Let's ride!
