Frame Buildup
Sit back and watch the master show you how it's done!
Check out the fancy head tube Angleometer, made out of gen-u-wine Schedule 80 PVC! The "Pro's" would probably tell you this ain't good enough, but I'm no pro!
After a little trimming and notching, We've got the lower frame tubes in place and tacked.
Moving out back, we locate the lower U frame at precisely 15 degrees or so.
After just a few minutes, we have a half a frame! All of this design planning is really paying off!
Beautiful isn't it?
Now comes the tricky part! Thanks to the detailed drawings I know EXACTLY how high the rear cross tube should be and the angle of the top tube.
Time for a quick beer break. You can clearly see that the plumb bob ensures that the top tube is perfectly centered on the centerline. Although I probably should have checked to make sure my stand was level...
Yep, that'll do!
As you can plainly see, I am a strong believer in keeping the shop neat and orderly. After all, Elvis is watching.
While no one was playing with the camera, I managed to get the upper U tube mounted along with a center brace.
Back to the front page for the next action packed installment!!
